Serene Light Poetry Book

On 21st October 2020, I released our poetry book Serene Light. I say our as it is a poetry book full of poems written by mums and dads from my local community.

This book is a sister book of Mother Light which I am also a co-author of and this was how the idea was birthed.

I reached out to my community to see if they wanted to be part of this very special book and it was amazing to read such moving poems from both mothers and fathers.

When you are a beginning your parenthood journey or have been through great heartbreak it can be a very lonely and isolating time, this book is here to give you comfort to let you know you are not alone, that your feelings are valid and to have hope.

Parenthood can be all immersing in emotions and feelings, full of highs, lows, challenges and loneliness. By sharing and opening our hearts, we can help others by letting them know, that they are not alone in these feelings.

All the proceeds made from the book sales will be donated to Bedfordshire SANDS.

Bedfordshire Sands is part of Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity. Sands operates throughout the UK, supporting anyone affected by the death of a baby, working to improve the care bereaved parents receive, and promoting research and working closely with many different organisations to reduce the loss of babies’ lives.

Bedfordshire Sands is a volunteer-led Group that works to support the charity’s vision aims in our area. As bereaved parents ourselves, we understand the pain and grief of when a baby dies. The support we offer can be accessed via telephone and email, and through support meetings and events with other bereaved families.

On the first day of sales we reached 2nd best seller in family and parent reference, which was amazing.
